From Alchemy to Numinosity

“This provocative exhibition developed from conversations I had with sculptor Julie Nagle. Julie’s works explore similar themes and are prominently featured here in dialogue with works by the other artists. Various types of artistic practice are featured, from the cryptic “synthetic alchemy” constructions of renowned self-taught artist Emery Blagdon, to the large machine-obsessive kinetic sculpture work of Josh Knoblick, to Ann LePore’s numinous Amulets for Introverts. In addition to Ramapo collections, the exhibition also features special loans from the prestigious collections of Gardy St. Fleur of Brooklyn, NY, and Ed Gessen of St. Petersburg, FL -- all making for quite the unusual eyeful.”
