Magnitudes of Matter

I completed this body of work inspired by astrophysics during my residency at the International Studio and Curatorial Program. “Light Trembles In”  is a sculpture of a wormhole attached to a Theremin synthesizer. Piano wires are stretched between either end. As a visitor crawls through the piece it creates eerie sounds in response to their movement. The large kaleidoscope in “A Seed to Eat the World” rotates on an adjustable steel stand. As it turns, bones from mammals, fish, dinosaurs, and humans contained in a chamber on the far end tumble into new configurations in a metaphor for evolutionary potential.
