Bridle Prayer Beads

Bridle hardware, glass beads, casts of my horse’s teeth in resin, rosary bead made from a 3D scan of my head and MRI of my skull.

I discovered the bridle in our tackle room weathered and dry rotting away. I replaced the leather with beaded strips, in a meditative weaving to preserve my memories. Casts of my horses’ teeth are strung like prayer beads along beaded roots, with a self portrait at the end. I scanned my own head and combined it with a scan of my skull from an MRI to create a memento mori rosary bead, reminding me that our great technologies can’t prevent the inevitable.
