A Fin is a Wing is a Limb

Wood, mirrors, steel, hardware, insect collection

4’ x 3’ x 1.5’

Look through the eyepiece at the end of this kaleidoscope. The mirrors inside refract and contort the insect collection within conjuring up visions of evolutionary potential, both lovely in its presentation and horrific in implication. Insects are amongst the earliest victims of climate change. Their short life spans allow for quick, unpredictable evolutions. While the insects in this collection are both local and exotic, they are as interconnected with each other as we are upon them for survival.
